And so, I am committing to Preach, Teach, and Act:

My faith calls me to act in instances of immorality and injustice. The current criminal justice system is filled with injustices. And so, I am committing to Preach, Teach, and Act:

1. I will preach (or I will encourage and support my clergy person or faith institution to preach) on any topic related to mass incarceration and changing hearts and minds with regards to people who have experienced incarceration, preferably by the end of May.
2. I will teach (or I will encourage and support my clergy person or faith institution to teach) on any topic related to mass incarceration and the ways we can interrupt the system, preferably during the summer of 2020.
3. I will act (or I will encourage my clergy person or faith institution to act) in partnership with those who’ve been impacted by mass incarceration through one of the action steps included here or by creating one of our own, preferably by the end of 2020.
4. I will document one or all of these actions through video, pictures, and written testimonies/reflections and send them back to the EMI team ([email protected]), so that we can celebrate you and share your success to inspire other congregations to follow your lead!
